Haunted by the Past: Katie’s Homecoming Reveals Terrifying Family Secrets
Katie is a young journalist who has spent years trying to overcome her difficult childhood. She lost her parents in a tragic car accident when she was young.
Although Katie tried to move forward in life and believed she had accepted the loss of her parents, she could never shake the fear she felt whenever she approached the basement of her childhood home. Something about that room always made her uneasy, but she couldn’t quite understand why. Whenever she heard strange noises, her grandmother Suzan would reassure her that there was nothing to fear. However, Katie remained convinced otherwise.

Years later, Suzie passes away, and at the funeral, Katie discovers that her grandmother has left the house to her. Old emotions immediately resurface, but as a mature and independent woman, Katie chooses to return to the house and confront her past.
Settling into her new home, Katie reconnects with her childhood friends, Sarah and John. During a nostalgic dinner conversation one evening, John brings up a fourth friend named Lucie, who tragically died from a snake bite while camping with her parents. Katie vividly remembers being there when the incident occurred, hearing Lucie’s cries for help. Frightened, Katie fled and didn’t assist her friend — a decision that would haunt her with regret.
That very night, Katie hears familiar voices coming from the basement. Despite her hesitation, she grabs a flashlight and heads downstairs. Relieved to find nothing out of the ordinary, she starts going through some old boxes. To her surprise, she finds old photos of her parents with her as a child. Underneath them, she discovers a newspaper article about her parents’ murder. She also finds a terrifying picture of Lucie.

The next day, Katie tells Sarah about what she found and asks her to stay at the house for a few days to figure things out. But Sarah doesn’t take it seriously and makes fun of Katie’s fear of the dark basement. That night, when Katie hears voices calling her name, she wakes Sarah, and they decide to face Katie’s fears together. As they go downstairs, they are suddenly confronted by a frightening little girl who starts chasing them.
Katie manages to escape, but Sarah is left trapped in the basement. Katie is horrified to discover that the little girl is the malevolent spirit of Lucie — the one who caused her parents’ death, seeking revenge.
Now, Katie must find a way to make peace with her past, put Lucie’s spirit to rest, save Sarah from certain death, and protect her own future.
